Who is Ali Haider?

Ali Haider is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Toronto. He has earned a major in Mechatronics and a minor in Robotics. He also took courses in the energy and environment stream and has a strong background in solid mechanics, 3D modeling and design using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Ali has extensive knowledge in Mechatronics design which he demonstrated by successfully building an autonomous line following robot and a wirelessly controlled surveillance rover as his final project for two courses.

He also led a team of three to successfully complete an eight month long capstone design project. His group researched, designed and developed a prototype of a portable, affordable, and easy-to-use meal monitoring system that can be used in conjunction with any assistive robot. The prototype system monitored eating habits and nutrition intake of a person in a non-invasive manner via a camera and multiple sensor arrays and transmitted the data wirelessly to a computer for processing.

Ali possesses outstanding interpersonal skills, and extensive commitment and passion in the field of engineering. He is continually looking for opportunities to improve his technical skills in engineering, as well as his communication and interpersonal skills.
